Wexford Schoolgirls League Under Fourteen
Tombrack United 0 Corach Ramblers 1
The Under Fourteen girls fell to their first defeat of the season when going down 1-0 to a hard working Corach side who scored fifteen minutes from the end to take a vital three points. Tombrack had several chances early in the game but were slightly understrength in numbers and this proved costly as Corach used this to their fullest advantage and pressed forward in numbers. This is the girls first defeat of the season and the their fate is still in their own hands in their quest for the league title
Wexford Youths Cup First Round
Wexford Celtic B 0 Tombrack United 7
Our Youths team made it through to the last sixteen of the Wexford Youth Cup when proving far too strong for Wexford Celtic second team, earning themselves a home game v Glynn Barntown in the next round. Harry Fitzgibbon and Josh McMullen scored a hat trick each to add to a goal from Thomas Jeffers in a game where the Tombrack defence were never overly troubled
Wexford Football League Division One
New Ross Celtic 0 Tombrack United 0
A slightly understrength men's team earned a point in New Ross Celtic after a hard fought scoreless draw. Both sides could have done with the three points to keep the pressure on the leaders but in the end, both had to settle for a point each. The home side did start the better and had the ball in the net midway through the half but the Celtic forward was deemed to have pushed a Tombrack defender with referee Anthony Tobin disallowing the goal. This was probably the wake up call Tombrack needed and for the remaining sixty minutes, they were the more competitive and created the better chances. James Coleman and Darragh Hendrick both put in outstanding performances while Kevin Kenny probably went closest for Tombrack when his well taken free kick just grazed the crossbar. The positive from this game is that the lads are now showing themselves as a team well capable of competing in this division and a consistent run would see them move into promotion contention
