Wexford Schoolgirls League Under Nine

Tombrack United v Bunclody AFC

Our newest and youngest team made their first appearance in Tombrack jersies when they played an entertaining goal filled match against near neighbours Bunclody. Both sides played some great football and enjoyed the game despite the difficult conditions and well done to both sets of managers, coaches, players and supporters for braving the frosty weather

Wexford Schoolboys League Under Ten

Tombrack United v Enniscorthy Town

Our youngest boys team were also in action at home this morning and produced some great football against a young Enniscorthy Town side. Despite the cold frosty conditions, both sets of players managed to produce good passing football and once again to all who braved the cold weather to enjoy this exciting encounter

Wexford Schoolboys League Under Fourteen

Corach Ramblers 1 Tombrack United 2

The Under Fourteen boys made the long journey to Carrig on Bannow and picked up their first three points on the field of play when they came away 2-1 winners.

Corach enjoyed the better exchanges of the first half and led 1-0 at the break despite Tombrack going close on a couple of occasions. Putting in their best performance of the season, the lads deserved something from this game and they got their just rewards when first Danny Ascott scored and minutes later Conor O Toole scored what proved to to the winner. These three points move Tombrack up to a comfortable mid table position

Wexford Schoolboys League Under Sixteen

Tombrack United 2 Enniscorthy United 1

This team lost their opening game of the season 7-1 to Enniscorthy United but have not been beaten season and moved into contention for the title when they overcame United 2-1 in Ballyboy today. Tombrack started well and after ten minutes were awarded a penalty when Harry Fitzgibbon was taken down in the box and Josh McMullen stepped up to slot away the spotkick, a lead that the lads held until half time. United came in search of an equaliser and eventually scored midway through the half but Tombrack showed great character to keep coming forward in search of the winner and ten minutes from the end, they were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Evan Maher stepped up take the free which he crossed into the area where Ross Mulcahy was on hand to shoot past the keeper. This was Enniscorthy United's first defeat of the season and moves Tombrack to within a point of them with a game in hand and a potentially exciting 2018 ahead

Wexford Schoolgirls League Under Sixteen

Tombrack United  1  St Leonards  1

This top of the table clash could go a long way to deciding who will this seasons premier division with both sides creating chances but a point each at the end was probably a fair result. In a very even first half, Tombrack were unlucky not to take the lead when Lucy Kemble's well struck shot hit the underside of the crossbar while at the other end, keeper Leanne Kenny pulled off a couple of important saves at vital points.

The breakthrough came midway through the second half when Lucy chipped the defence and Becky Connaughton ran on to fire the ball to the back of the net to give Tombrack a well deserved lead. Ten minutes later, St Leonards were back on level terms when Eimear Gabbett gave Leanne no chance with a well struck shot to earn her side a point. Both sides are still well in contention for the title and like our Under Sixteen boys, the girls will be looking forward to an exciting 2018
