Wexford Schoolgirls Under Fourteen Division Two B
Tombrack United 2 Coolboy Rangers 1
A thrilling schoolgirls game see our Under Fourteen schoolgirls move to within a point of the league title after a late goal saw them overcome closest challengers Coolboy Rangers 2-1. A closely contested first half saw Tombrack go 1-0 ahead when a low well struck effort from Ana Dragusan hit the back of the net despite the best efforts of the Coolboy keeper. The visitors came out much stronger in the second half and scored early on to set up a very exciting final half hour as both sides pushed for the win with Tombrack hitting the crossbar while Coolboy saw a shot strike the post. Three minutes from the end, Tombrack got the vital breakthrough when Megan Hayes broke down the line and her well struck effort sailed into the top corner of the net for what proved to be the winner. The girls now have one game left away to Corach Ramblers and a point will see the girls secure the Division Two B title
