Under Nine Schoolgirls and Under Eleven Schoolboys

Both our non competitive sides were in action this morning and both put in excellent performances with Kate Tomkins having an especially good day as she put in top class performances for both sides. Well done to both squads who continue to show improvement with every game.

Wexford Schoolgirls Under Twelve Division Two A

Tombrack United  3  Bree United  2

Four wins from four played and top of the table with one game to go but it wont get any more exciting than this as our girls overcame fellow title challengers Bree United by the odd goal in five. Both sides were unbeaten going into this game and a win for either side would be invaluable for their title ambitions and it was Tombrack who took the lead when Ana Dragusan scored after ten minutes but Bree showed their talent and were back on level terms five minutes later. Ana scored her second just before half time to restore the home sides lead but shortly after the restart, the sides were level again when Bree scored a goal that deflected off a Tombrack defender. Seven minutes before the end, Mikayla Tobin Cosgrave became the heroine when she scored the winner for Tombrack to give them an invaluable three points. Well done to everyone on a great victory and with just one big game left away to Adamstown, the girls are well in contention for the title

Wexford Schoolboys Under Fifteen Division Two

Tombrack United  2  Bree United  0

Our Under Fifteen boys moved joint top of the table when they eventually overcame a hard working Bree side with two goals in the final fifteen minutes of the game. The first half was evenly contested although Tombrack should have taken the lead when awarded a penalty but it was well saved and the game reached half time still scoreless. The lads were much better in the second half and were camped in the Bree half of the lead, bringing save after save from the keeper until fifteen minutes from the end, Stephen O Toole eventually found the net to give Tombrack the lead. Bree almost equalised straightaway only for an excellent save from Nathan Kelly but shortly after, Ryan Hayes scored to put the game to bed and secure the three points. This is going to be a very tight division and our lads are showing to be as competitive as anyone in what is going to be a very long season

Wexford Schoolgirls Under Sixteen Premier Division

All Blacks  2  Tombrack United  3

Our Under Sixteen girls remain in contention for the premier title after a numerically understrength side travelled to All Blacks and came away with a vital three points to keep the pressure on leaders Forth Celtic. Tombrack had to work hard to overcome a young home side who used their advantage in numbers to make life difficult for the visitors but our girls used every ounce of experience they had to eventually come out on top. Two goals for Emma Tomkins and one for Aimee Dreelan gave the girls their second win of the season and moved into second place in the league, three points behind Forth Celtic, with one game each to go

Wexford Football League Youths Division Two

Glynn Barntown  1  Tombrack United  0

These two sides have not enjoyed a great start in this division and neither side looked impressive in this league tie. Already missing Evan Maher, the lads were dealt a further blow twenty minutes in when David Power had to come off injured. Neither side were creating much in a scrappy first half but it was the home side who scored when Tombrack were unable to clear. Tombrack were much better in the second half but could not break down a home side who scrapped and battled for the win and probably deserved their three points in the end. This is a rebuilding year for our youths after three years of success and manager Willie Maher is confident that this side can improve over the season
