Tombrack United  0  Village FC  0

An exciting fast paced Over Thirty-Five match saw both sides play some good football, creating several chances but in the end, both had to settle for a point each after a scoreless draw. Village had been the first visitors to Ballyboy back in April when they had went away 5-1 winners and had beaten a depleted Tombrack 2-1 in Bagenalstown a few weeks later so our lads were eager to prove a point.

The game was evenly matched from the kick off but the home side did enjoy the better of the exchanges with Martin Doyle and Joe Goodall both shooting just wide while Barry Murphy saw his effort well saved. At the other end, Village did have chances but keeper Obi Kavanagh and defenders Willie Breen and Darren Quinn kept them at bay

The second half was equally as competitive with both keepers making good saves while Barry McDermott and Ray Murphy went closest for Tombrack while Stephen Jordan put in a strong performance while Fergus Turner worked tirelessly in midfield

Overall Tombrack were happy with a point and content with the improvement this season to date and look forward to two more league games and some big cup games in the coming weeks
